The ocean is my playground, but also the place where I find stillness from our busy world. I want to inspire people to reconnect with nature.

My story as an environmentalist really started with travel.

It exposed me to the environmental degradation of our planet and sparked a growing sense of discomfort. I sat down with my parents to talk about changing my life. I felt a desire to go to Africa. I was scared - I had no idea how to start, what to do, how long to go for. My dad said “why don’t you just go?”. I felt an indescribable feeling of liberation by his words. It was the last real conversation I had with my dad before he passed away two months later. I decided to follow his advice. I packed up my life in Germany, travelled through Southern Africa and ended up in Cape Town. All of my work is centred around one mission - to help people reconnect with nature, both personally and in their business practices.

When you are underwater, it’s just your body, your breath and your thoughts. You are a guest in the oldest ecosystem on Planet Earth. You are reminded of your place in the bigger scheme of ‘life’.
